Day 1
NIV John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning.
Jesus existed with God before He was born. What do you think it was like the day Jesus left Heaven to come to Earth?
Day 2
NIV John 1:3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
God used Jesus to create everything. We think of God as creator but the Bible says Jesus was His instrument in creation. What do you think it was like for Jesus to view His creation from the perspective of a human?
Day 3
NIV John 1:4 In him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.
Jesus brought life and light into the world. In what ways does Jesus bring and give life and light?
Day 4
NIV John 1:14a The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.
Jesus came to live with us. Have you ever thought what it was like for Jesus to live with sinful people after being with God? What does it tell you that God wants to be with us? What does it mean here when someone wants to spend time with you?
Day 5
NIV John 1:14b We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
No one can physically see God. If we want to know what God is like we can look at Jesus. It is amazing to think that Jesus embodies for us who God is.
Day 6
NIV John 1:18 No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only, who is at the Father’s side, has made him known.
Jesus’ role was to make God known to us. How would we have known God if He had not loved us enough to come and reveal Himself to us?
